Geology Class

So to pass the time in geology class, i draw horses, pretty women and batman.

Also thought i should share that scanning a flimsy notebook is a pain.

Pulverized Brains

So the past few weeks have been super busy. I started to take some bio classes and also took care of my house while my mom was gone. I really suck at being a real person.

Other than that, I have sadly not drawn too much over the past few months. My present sketchbook has fast become the lamest sketchbook I've owned. The only doodles I really had time for, were the ones that I did while trying desperately not to fall asleep in class.

I had a robot phase, sort of



then a monster/critter phase.
Then I turned to drawing attractive women. Something I like to draw when I can't think of anything good. I'm pretty sure the woman on the left is somehoe inspired by lady gaga. She is everywhere
Last but not least. I played around with color a bit while procrastinating.
In the next 5 weeks, I'll probably post more things that I draw in class... since that seems to be the only time I draw nowadays. Tata!

Percy Jackson and friends

hello blog, its been a while, i missed you.

these images are characters from a book series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I havent finished the series, but the basic gist of the series is that there are Greek Gods and Goddesses living in NY and their half god children (demi-gods) go to a camp called "Camp Half Blood" where they are sent on quests.

anyways, i did these for the Rick Riordan book signing event at my workplace. One of my managers decided to tell me about this a week before the event so these are sorta rushed but these were hung up as decoration in the events room. Rick Riordan was awesome, i am amazed he did not get carpal tunnel while signing all those books. He was even nice enough to sign the paintings afterwards.

Busy Busy

Side/Freak Show, sculptures, and naked ladies.

The past few weeks I've been listening to a whole lot of Yann Tiersen, and Yann Tiersen reminds me of circuses and sideshows. So i spent the last 2 weeks or so doodling bearded ladies, midget/children, siamese twins, half animal people, contortionists and all sorts of fun things. So after a some sketching, I thought it would be fun to perhaps try and finish a couple of them.
Here are some of my decent sketches:

My cute little announcer/ringmaster girl. I think mostly wanted an excuse to draw a little girl in a frily dress.
My siamese/ conjoined twins that are connected at the hip and hair

And my so far my last completed decent sketch, the bearded lady. Very hairy.

I've had dam holding back ideas the past few weeks, so excuse me if some of my sketches and poses and clothes are lame. I'm hopefully going to work on them more as the days go by.

Now, while I was on complete art hiatus, I copied things out of books during my down time at work


This stuff is from a book on Hadrian. Lots of pretty stuff in that book

and last but not least, when in doubt, i turn to scantily clad women.

hopefully, next post will be more productive.

Bookplate

Bookplate for one of my managers at work. 

So the holidays are killing my soul and it excites me that all this will be over soon. I several pages of sketches, but have been way too lazy or busy to scan them. Ill get to it sooner or later.

i one day decided "i don't paint enough" and decided to paint.

i think white birch trees are pretty. so this is my silly attempt at painting trees.

Vampirella

whoa... another post made during the same week.... amazing... 

 

I redesigned vampirella for a contest held on project rooftop. this was a toughie since  vampirella's original costume is pretty iconic. but anyways, this was an interesting experience. i sorta threw myself back into photoshop and i think it went ok. i guess this is a pretty good start for some newer artwork..

(i think i got a little overzealous with the highlighting and shininess.... i swear its like candy)

Teddy Bear

first somewhat decent little drawing. did it during my break at work

i had a silly little dream a little while ago that i lost a teddy bear. when i realized that i lost the teddy bear, it got sad and committed suicide.  anyways it was an odd dream.

i was walking around my front lawn and found a little flower screaming for its life

i didnt have any nice artwork to post, so this is me trying to be clever. har har

this summer has been very slow. ive been making some money (trying very hard to save) , watching movies ( btw the dark knight was amazing), and catching up on four years of sleep.

other than working, i've been making pies to relieave stress, and believe it or not, i discovered pears taste pretty good in pies. It sorta tastes like a peach/ apple fusion. you should try it hehe


anyways. im mostly back, and i hope to be posting more things soon

Indiana Jones made me sad

Of all the movies i've seen this summer, i have to say that Indiana Jones 4 was the worst. Its not only the worst of all the movies i've seen all summer but also in the series. Actually it really shouldn't belong in the series or exist! Its one of the only movies where i felt like crying because i had some wonderful childhood memories destroyed. I guess i'd recommend anyone to watch it is if you want to watch something hilariously bad. Now if you want to spend some money on a good movie, i recommend speed racer! cause like sam bosma(look to the right for his link) said, its like having liquid candy poured into your eyes. Another movie thats just as awesome is Ironman. Ironman is just badass. go watch it .

Done done done

so, i am officially done now and i sadly cleaned out my studio
but also while cleaning out of my studio, i found some old artwork. which i thought was fun
this is one of the 1st acrylic test paintings that i did last summer. this was when i had no idea what i was doing with paint. so its a tad messy and unfinished
i also tried painting on canvas. i wasnt too thrilled about this. but its ok! i learn from my mistakes.

i also had some leftover paint a little while ago and decided to paint a bird
little birdie =)

Business cards and Baltimore's good bye gift

So, it is now the end of the semester, and i finally made business cards for myself.

and this is the back. ive been feeling really self conscious cause there are just so many Hannahs in my contact info stuff and all.

i also found a sketch i liked in my sketchbook, so i scanned it and colored it for fun.
my little cat princess! I'm still such a little girl on the inside. =P

Anyways, if you guys are wondering what my farewell gift from Baltimore was, it was being mugged two nights ago at semi-gunpoint on my doorstep (I walked a block). Four years! and now that i'm leaving i guess Baltimore felt like i should get what i deserved for tempting it. So, i learned my lesson, to not walk around late at night... bleh

on a brighter note, i'm graduating soon, and i will be out of here in like 2 weeks! yaaay (sorta)
